These sessions are always something I particularly enjoy! Why? Because I've been in your shoes. I understand what a mystery the craft of acting can be from a singer's perspective. But just like singing, there is a technique behind the process of acting. These sessions will include:

Everyone is different and learns in unique ways. I tailor a voice lesson to the individual while making sure that we cover great technique. We then learn to apply that technique through practical application, which for example may include audition material. I truly believe a "perfect" singer is not always the best singer. Voice lessons are a commitment, and most students study once a week. Voice lessons will include:

This introductory seminar helps participants gain a clear understanding of the elements involved in the craft of advanced acting. Based in the Method, but with practical application in mind, the seminar teaches a clear step-by-step approach to developing unique and truthful characterizations by understanding intention, emotional obligation, and self awareness. Practical application of the technique to script/libretto analysis is discussed. A common vocabulary is developed in preparation for advanced acting seminars or private study.

Registration and Cancellation Policies
Advanced registration and payment is required. A 48 hour cancellation must be sent by contacting deweymoss@gmail.com in order to recieve a refund -- No exceptions. A minimum number of attendees must be met; should this number not be met, or if instructor cancels for any reason, participants will be contacted and full refunds given.
Dewey Moss has a professional performance background that spans over 20 years and includes opera, Broadway shows, national tours, concert appearances and television and film work. He has appeared on some of New York's greatest stages from Carnegie Hall to Lincoln Center. His recent solo performance of the new opera "Puppet." which premiered at Zankel Hall, was called a "virtuoso performance" by Concerto.net.
Dewey has directed numerous stage productions in New York and the surrounding areas. In 2007 he made his screenwriting and film directorial debut with his award-winning independent feature film, A Normal Life, and continues to cast and direct commercials and other media-based projects.
Dewey holds a Master's Degree in vocal performance from CUNY-Hunter College where he was awarded the prestigious Alda Award (made possible by actor Alan Alda and wife Arlene).
